Tarzana, CA, in L.A.'s San Fernando Valley region, is well known for being on the site of the former Tarzana Ranch once owned by Edgar Burroughs (author of the novel Tarzan from which the ranch and the town derive their name.)
And when your Tarzana home has an un- or under- insulated attic or other energy inefficiency problems, it may well feel like you are living in some sweltering jungle such as Tarzan would be likely to inhabit. Los Angeles summers can be very uncomfortable in a less than fully insulated building.
At Pure Eco, we have been upgrading the energy efficiency, and comfort levels, of Tarzana Area homes for many years, and we stand ready to do the same for you as well.
To improve the comfort level of your indoor environment, reduce your carbon footprint, and save money at the same time, call Pure Eco today at 818-655-0266, and we will be happy to assist you!

Our Offered Services
Pure Eco is a full-service company specializing in home insulation, air sealing, ventilation, soundproofing, rodent proofing, and more. Our offered services include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Air Sealing
Before you can insulate an attic, or any other space for that matter, it is advisable to first inspect the room for any air leaks, and then eliminate them.
At Pure Eco, we can do a full inspection of your attic or other space you intend to insulate to detect all air leakage points. We know where to look and how to find them even with just a visual inspection and a flash light. But we also use high-powered equipment like fog machines and blower doors to ensure we find all the air leaks.
We will seal off small cracks and holes with caulk or other appropriate sealants, cover up major drafts with plywood, OSB board, or drywall, use metal sheeting and heat-resistant caulk around in-attic chimneys, install weather stripping around attic entrance hatches, and use other means to plug and seal all air leaks.
- Installing the Insulation
There are plenty of older and un- or under- insulated homes in Tarzana, CA, that could be much more energy efficient than they currently are.
Our staff at Pure Eco can help you select the best insulation brand/type to meet your needs and fit your budget. We can remove old, damaged insulation or asbestos-containing vermiculite insulation. Or we can add more insulation to your attic floor, for example, by doubling up batts or blowing in more loose-fill insulation.
Batts is the most popular and, generally, the least expensive type of insulation on the market today. It comes in long, rectangular rolls of paper or foil backed material. Its fiber interconnect firmly to hold it together and create an effective insulating layer.
Batts insulation is sized to fit into standard-width stud spaces, and it is designed to cover wood studs/rafters, with pieces connecting to adjacent pieces. When properly installed, it creates a solid barrier that is adequate for most insulating tasks.
Batts comes in various materials, but fiberglass and cotton are most common. Both work about as well and are environmentally friendly. Fiberglass is sourced from sand, while cotton batts are made from old bluejeans.
Blown (loose fill) insulation will fill in insulated spaces more compactly than can batts insulation. It is often used on attic floors, but is also often used in ceilings and walls.
Loose fill insulation typically comes in fiberglass of cellulose material, the latter being made from recycled newspapers.
Pure Eco can use an insulation truck, insulation blower, and well placed hoses to deliver blown insulation to any part of your home. We can lay it down compactly, evenly, and quickly, without making any mess.
And if you want to go the extra mile with your insulation or soundproof a baby room, home office, or media room, we can install Roxul soundproof insulation in your home.
Roxul is the top of the market when it comes to soundproof insulation. Its unique "rock wool" (natural rock and steel slag) material absorbs sound waves, resists and slows down fire, and refuses to corrode or mold. And Roxul soundproof insulation is Greenguard® Certified, and thus, 100% eco-friendly.
We install Roxul over existing insulation to create an even more powerful sound and heat barrier, or we can remove the old insulation first. Pure Eco can also help you to handle all other aspects associated with soundproofing your room or your whole home.
- Radiant Barriers
Another great way to increase the energy efficiency level of your home is to install a radiant barrier below your roof line (on your attic's ceiling.) This will reflect away radiant heat from the sun that otherwise will enter your attic and, from there, filter down into the rest of your house.
Radiant barriers use a highly reflective surface, normally made of aluminum, in multiple layers to minimize the radiant heat getting into your attic. This will make it easier to cool your Tarzana home during the hot summer months and save you significantly on your energy bill.
Our staff at Pure Eco knows how to install radiant barriers for maximum effectiveness, preventing any major dust build-up over the years that could compromise the ability of the reflective layer to keep on doing its job at full strength. And we can also help you select a radiant barrier that best fits your needs and your budget.
Pure Eco also offers attic rodent proofing services. Some 25% of all rodent infestations in the home begin in the attic. But they don't stay there, all too often.
Rodents bring with them disease and leave their droppings and urine all over your attic and your house. They also get into food supplies and make them unusable. We can prevent rodents and other animals from getting into your attic to begin with by sealing off all possible entry point in your roof or attic walls.
We can cover up holes with plywood and/or metal webbing, caulk smaller holes and cracks, and put on vent covers and a chimney cap. We can also set traps to catch mice, rats, and other vermin that may already have gotten into your attic.
